Web Sites > AVLIC

As their web site states "The Association of Visual Language Interpreters of Canada is a non-profit, professional association for interpreters whose working languages include a sign language."

The site was developed by Toby Leftly of Spotvin, using the Drupal 7 platform.

Toby and his team did an amazing job, but when the site's programmer moved on, he asked me to continue developing the site --- adding new features, making fixes, and generally maintaining the site.

Jane Pannell, AVLIC's Administrative Manager in Vancouver, and I discuss via Skype's screen sharing any changes or fixes she wants done to the site. Jane's ability to thoroughly explain a problem, and her interest in how the solutions are implemented, have ensured excellent, on-going communication between us. And where possible, I show Jane how she can make some of the changes herself.

Most of the fixes have been to the members only area.

The challenge is, of course, to first find which file or database table contains the source of the problem, and then determine the most efficient fix.
